In December 2024, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Winnipeg launched an exciting logo contest to commemorate its Centennial. The contest invited participants to design a new logo that would symbolize a century of excellence and service. The response was overwhelming, with several creative submissions pouring in. After careful consideration, four finalists were selected and presented to members of the Base for a final vote.

The winner, designed by Captain (Capt.) Miguel Moldez from the 38th Canadian Brigade Group, emerged as the favorite. Capt. Moldez's design beautifully encapsulates the rich history and heritage of CFB Winnipeg.

The logo features three main elements:
Wings from the NORAD Logo: Representing the Canadian NORAD Region Headquarters that calls CFB Winnipeg home.
Star and Wagon Wheel from the CFB Winnipeg crest: Symbolizing the base's legacy and its pivotal role in the community.
Three Airplanes: Depicting the past and present airframes used at the base. These include the P-51D Mustang (historically flown by 402 “City of Winnipeg” Squadron), the CC-130H Hercules (operated by 435 Transport & Rescue Squadron), and the CT-142 Dash 8 (the current aircraft flown by 402 “City of Winnipeg” Squadron).
The design will be prominently featured in various official materials and celebrations throughout the centennial year. It will appear on embroidered patches, social media platforms, websites, banners, and more, serving as a proud emblem of CFB Winnipeg's storied past and promising future.
Congratulations to Capt. Miguel Moldez for his outstanding design, which will undoubtedly become a cherished symbol of our centennial celebrations. Here's to 100 years of excellence and to many more to come!
